Since its inception in the 1870s, the Minerals Resources Library has diligently amassed information produced by the Geological Survey of New South Wales and other reputable sources.

The Mineral Resources Library now holds one of the world's largest collections on New South Wales (NSW) geology and is a trusted centre of information on NSW mining and earth related topics.

  • Published and unpublished company and departmental reports on mining and exploration activities in NSW.

Search the Mineral Resources Library

Go to the Trove Advanced Search screen and first type in your keywords.

In the Search Box for Library location (at the bottom of the screen) type the words: NSW Department of Industry

Tick the box beside Mineral Resources Library.

Click on the green Search button to start your search.

Borrowing from the Mineral Resources Library

Members of the public may only borrow items from the Mineral Resources Library via an interlibrary loan.

Contact your public, university or corporate library to arrange an interlibrary loan.

Visiting the Mineral Resources Library

Opening hours: Appointments are available Monday to Friday (excluding NSW public holidays) between 9.00 am - 4.00 pm.

Members of the public are welcome to visit the library for reference use and to access the library catalogue. Access to the online services of the Geological Survey of NSW, such as DIGs, EROL and GDW, is also available.

Direct borrowing is not permitted and due to licensing restrictions members of the public are unable to access databases or electronic journals for which the Library pays a subscription fee.

Photocopying is available at 20c per sheet (black and white).
