3rd April 2018

The Resources Regulator has commenced an investigation into an incident involving the rollover of a truck at the Werris Creek No 2 coal mine.

A water cart was travelling down a ramp at the mine on April 2 when the driver lost control and the truck rolled onto its side.

The driver was able to remove himself from the cabin and was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries, including a laceration on his back.

Inspectors and investigators have been deployed to the mine site.

The Resources Regulator will publish an Investigation Information Release within the next 14 days to provide information on the potential cause and circumstances of the incident and assist the mining industry to reduce the likelihood of a similar event occurring.

As an investigation is underway, no further information will be made available at this time.
