The Department of Planning and Environment has launched a new TV commercial aimed at helping families across NSW save on their energy bills.

The 30 second advertisement encourages households across the state to discover the many energy rebates and discounts that may be available to them.

The Department’s Deputy Secretary of Energy, Water & Portfolio Strategy, Dr Liz Develin, said there are many opportunities for families to save on their energy bills.

"Households could now be saving on their energy bills thanks to changes introduced by the NSW Government to tackle cost of living pressures," Dr Develin said.

"But many families don’t know about the savings, or where they can access them.

"This commercial encourages people to visit energyaffordability.nsw.gov.au to find out what is available to them and how they can access it."

Advice on making your home more energy efficient, how to save on new household appliances and the wide-range of government rebates available to households can be found on the website.

"A simple visit to this website can mean a lot to those who need our help the most," Dr Develin said. "This is a national problem but we are strongly committed to doing what we can to help NSW families."
