The Resources Regulator is seeking experienced and enthusiastic presenters for its annual Mechanical Engineering Safety Seminar on 6 and 7 September 2017 in Sydney’s Olympic Park. The theme for this year’s seminar is, Are you overthinking it?
Presenters will broaden industry’s knowledge on WHS issues affecting mining mechanical engineering while building on their experience. They will deliver informative, educational and practical presentations matched to audience needs and levels of experience on issues affecting coal, metalliferous and quarry mining.
Presentations are typically 30 minutes long and may involve co-presenters. PowerPoint slideshows and/or other audio-visual materials are welcome; interactive, case-study based formats are highly encouraged. The focus must be towards a safety or technical problem or project and its challenges, how it was dealt with and benefits to the community. Presentations must not include brand promotion or sales pitches.
How to submit an expression of interest
Expressions of interest are due by close of business 20 April 2017. To submit an expression of interest, send the following information to firstname.lastname@example.org:
- mobile number
- email address, and
- brief description of the topic and how it fits with the seminar theme.
Once you have verbally accepted an invitation to present, you will be emailed a confirmation and presenter agreement to complete and return. Offers to present are not transferable and any replacements are at the sole discretion of the Resources Regulator. You will receive a reimbursement for reasonable expenses, but we do not pay presenters for their time. You will be asked to submit a short biography (150 words) and a photograph for marketing and event purposes.
